From the heart of Radio City Music Hall to some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and brands, New York City is bursting with excitement over the Rockettes 100th anniversary.
Last week the city honored the historic milestone anniversary by officially renaming the stretch of Sixth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets “Rockettes Way.” Beneath the new street sign, dozens of current and former Rockettes gathered for an unforgettable moment — performing their world-famous kickline to “New York, New York” right outside Radio City Music Hall.
The celebration is happening all across New York City . At the Empire State Building, the Rockettes lit the tower in festive red-and-white hues inspired by candy canes and unveiled dazzling displays of vintage costumes and memorabilia throughout the building’s windows and observatories. Just a few blocks away, the Museum of Broadway is preparing to open The Rockettes 100th Anniversary: A Century of Sisterhood, a vibrant exhibit tracing the dance company’s journey from their Missouri beginnings to the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall, complete with costumes by legendary Broadway designers and an interactive photo moment alongside the iconic Wooden Soldiers.
Even New York’s favorite treats are dressed for the celebration.Serendipity 3 is serving a limited-edition PB&J Frrrozen Hot Chocolate — a peanut butter and jelly twist on its classic dessert — while Magnolia Bakery has created a limited-edition Rockettes Red Velvet Cupcake available only at its Rockefeller Center location.
Inside Radio City Music Hall, guests attending the 2025 Christmas Spectacular can explore special exhibits, food and beverage offerings, and merchandise honoring the Rockettes century of performance and precision.
For a hundred years, the Rockettes have embodied precision, athleticism, and sisterhood — symbols of the city that never stops shining. This season, New York celebrates them right back, with lights, sweets, and sparkle befitting a century of high kicks.
