Let the centennial celebrations continue! From their beginnings in St. Louis to the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall, the Rockettes dance through the decades in this tribute video set to Judy Garland’s iconic song “That’s Entertainment!”
This video features the classic Rockettes Precision Dance Technique™ and draws inspiration from notable dance legends including Bob Fosse, Busby Berkeley and Russell Markert, who founded the Rockettes in 1925. The choreography follows the evolution of jazz dance from precision jazz to eye-high kicks. The Rockettes even showcase a newly-designed costume called “ZING!,” debuting this look on the Radio City stage for the first time. The cinematic visuals seamlessly transition the Rockettes through time, beginning with their start in 1925 as the “Missouri Rockets.” Watch as the video begins in black and white and then bleeds into vibrant color, bringing the Rockettes from the 1920s to today.
Rockettes Legacy members were in attendance for the shoot and were able to witness the show-stopping performance firsthand. After the shoot, former and current members of the line were able to meet and share in this special moment.
