The Rockettes 2019 Year in Review

2019 was a banner year for us, and we’re recapping it with a fun video!

This year’s Rockettes auditions saw close to 1,000 dancers line up outside Radio City Music Hall, all with the dream of being cast in the 2019 Christmas Spectacular. This year, 13 women joined our kickline, including Megan Garcia of Chicago and Sydney Mesher of Portland, Oregon. The women are part of the diverse and largest class of new Rockettes in more than 10 years!

We ‘kicked’ off the summer season with a one-take tap dance to honor National Tap Dance Day and celebrated NYC Pride with a special performance at Brunch Out with Trevor for a good cause!

Soon it would be time to prepare for Christmas, but before that, we exercised our creative minds and choreographed two, new dances to Kelsea Ballerini’s “Miss Me More” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Almost Love“. What a blast!

To shake things up during the Christmas season, we spent a few days playing Christmas Games, challenging each other to see who knows the most Christmas movies, and who has better wrapping, and cookie decorating skills. The hilarious challenges were such a great way to spend time together before rehearsals began.

Of course, the holiday season wouldn’t be complete with our annual appearances on the TODAY Show and in the Thanksgiving Day Parade! To make it more fun for everyone watching at home, we released dance tutorials ahead of time so our fans and dancers alike could learn our Sleigh Ride dance right before our performance! So many of you submitted dance videos and we must say, we were impressed!

We know this year’s success is all thanks to the unwavering support and love of our fans so, for this, we thank you and wish you all a very happy and healthy 2020!
