Successful Rockette Women

There’s no time like the present to honor the women who helped get us to where we are today and the women who are bringing us into the future. Our Rockettes sisterhood has no lack of fierce females doing amazing things!

We’re highlighting six women from the Radio City family who have continued on to make their mark on the world. From using dance to bring hope and positivity to local communities, to dancing as Beyoncé’s right-hand gal, these women are really showing us who’s boss!

Amanda Kloots, a former Broadway dancer and Rockette, fell in love with fitness while dancing. She always worked out to stay in shape for her shows, but when she found herself in between jobs, she decided to take her passion for fitness to the next level. Since then, Amanda has become a celebrity fitness trainer and a workout guru. And she’ll always cherish her time with the Rockettes: “Becoming a Radio City Rockette was a dream come true!  You have to strive for perfection every day, every show, every dance! It isn’t about being an individual when you are a part of the number one precision dance group.  It is about becoming one and being a team.  The women are strong and the hardest working dancers I know!” Amanda explains on her blog.

Canada native Keltie Knight danced with the Rockettes on the Great Stage for several years before appearing on our televisions. Her dance career didn’t stop with her last eye-high kick—she continued to dance on stage for artists like Kanye West and Beyoncé. Life eventually led Keltie to the red carpet, where her passion for television and entertainment landed her a hosting gig for CMT’S Hot 20 Countdown. She continued on as a correspondent for CBS’ The Insider and today you can see her on Entertainment Tonight. While she loves to host, Keltie also takes her talents to the keyboard as a blogger. She is also the co-author of the recently published manifesto Act Like a Lady!

While she hasn’t danced as a Rockette in the Christmas Spectacular (yet!), Cara is still part of the Radio City family. Cara grew up dancing and trained with us not one, not two, but four times at the Rockettes Summer Intensive. Besides her beauty-pageant looks and her dance skills, Cara also has the brains with a BBA in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations from Brown University. Cara dominates both on the stage and off, and it paid off when she won the 2018 Miss America crown.

Ashley Everett | Beyoncé’s Dance Captain

Before Ashley became a Rockette in 2008, she trained at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater where she met Frank Gatson Jr., Beyonce’s choreographer. And the rest is history. Ashley went to an audition for Bey’s backup dancers at Carnegie Hall, and after getting to dance in front of the Queen herself, she was asked to shoot two music videos with her: “Green Light” and “Get Me Bodied.” A few world tours later, Ashley is now Beyoncé’s lead dancer, dance captain, and good friend, and gets to perform with the pop diva on a regular basis.

Jacey Lambros and Danielle DeAngelo | Founders of Jane Do

Jacey Lambros and Danielle DeAngelo are the founders of Jane DO fitness studio. As Rockettes, Jacey and Danielle danced up to six shows a day, six days a week during the Christmas Spectacular season. With all those hours of performing, they started to feel like no workouts were cutting it. This prompted the pair to create a training method crafted around having the strength of an athlete and the body of a dancer. Their website describes Jane DO as a “place to empower women to find their strength through fitness so they can “DO” all the things they want—own a business meeting, rock a date, cross a finish line.” These lovely ladies are breaking a sweat AND inspiring women to live the life they want. We can get behind that!
