Rockettes’ Pick for Dancer of the Week: U.S. Olympic Women’s Bobsled Team
Who: Jamie Greubel Poser, Aja Evans, Lauren Gibbs and Elana Meyers Taylor of the U.S. Olympic Women’s Bobsled Team
Why we chose them: Consider it a warm-up, literally!
The U.S. Olympic women’s bobsled team was feeling the freeze as they awaited their bus in PyeongChang, Korea, where Olympians have been battling single-digit temps and wind gusts reaching 45 miles per hour! So, what’d they do to stay warm? Dance, of course!
Jamie Greubel Poser (who posted the video on Twitter), Aja Evans, Lauren Gibbs and Elana Meyers Taylor show off their best “Rolex” moves, set to Ayo & Teo’s popular hit, and even give “Backpack Kid” a run for his money. Clad in their team winter coats, the athletes’ faces are barely visible beneath the thick fur trim on their hoods, but when we do get a glimpse, they’re smiling and laughing.
Even though the women’s bobsled team won’t be competing until February 20, it’s easy to see they’re in good spirits and hopefully ready to take home the gold! Until then, we’ll stay tuned for more spectacular moves that keep these Olympians warmed up!
Fun fact: The jackets the American Olympians sported during the opening ceremony, which were designed by Ralph Lauren, are heated and powered by battery packs!
