Rockettes’ Pick for Dancer of the Week: Squidward’s Tap Dancing Performance at the 2018 Tony Awards

Why we chose them: On Sunday, June 10, the 72nd Tony Awards took place on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall. The ceremony not only honored Broadway’s best, but also featured an incredible lineup of musical performances. There was one performance in particular that had us dancing in our seats.

Gavin Lee, who plays the role of Squidward Q. Tentacles in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, took to the Great Stage with an ensemble of sea anemones for an epic toe-tapping performance of “(I’m Not A) Loser.”

Between the sass, sequins, tap dancing (four legs and all!) and that amazing kickline at the end, this performance was pure delight.

Fun fact: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical took home the Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Musical.
