Rockettes’ Pick for Dancer of the Week: Family Dancing to a Justin Bieber Holiday Tune
Who: Orgill family from Highland, Utah
Why we chose them: How does the saying go, again? The family that dances together, stays together? In this case, absolutely! In their 2015 Christmas dance video, the Orgills, of Highland, Utah, break it down to the Justin Bieber’s “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”
The family of eight siblings put their first dance video together (just for kicks and giggles!) during their Christmas celebration in 2012, and the tradition has snowballed from there. “Each year has gotten more elaborate, involving more planning than the year before. And more family members have been involved each year after seeing how much fun we had the previous year,” Ammon Orgill told Utah’s KSL.com.
This family shows that you don’t need a stage or fancy costumes to express yourself (and that holiday cheer!)—just an open space, some of mom’s old Christmas sweaters, an awesome tune and a goofy group willing to get down.
Fun fact: That first family dance party wasn’t meant to start a tradition!
