Rockettes’ Pick for Dancer of the Week: Dynamic Duo Dancing Through the Ages

Who: Twist and Pulse

Their dance:

Why we chose them: Longing for the good old days—or just looking to brush up on some iconic moves for your next dance floor appearance? Take a tour through nearly the entire 20th century (and then some) with this video from the charming duo Twist and Pulse.

Starting in the black-and-white film era of the ‘20s, the pair Lindy hops, does the Charleston, taps, rocks, swings, does some disco, breakdances, busts out some hip hop, and even performs the most memorable viral moves of today (hint: they twerk). And as their dances evolve through the eras, so do their costumes. Did we mention how much we love their yellow 1960s mock turtlenecks?

The London-born duo, Ashley Glazebrook (Twist) and Glen Murphy (Pulse), met at The BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology, have performed throughout the UK and Ireland, and even started the Twist and Pulse Dance Company, where they aim to help youth get through tough times using the art dance.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for them! Until then, we’ll be over here practicing our Charlestons…

Fun fact: Twist and Pulse were runners up on Britain’s Got Talent!

Rockette kicks (on a scale of 10 to 10!):
