Rockettes’ Pick for Dancer of the Week: ‘Balang’ the 7-Year-Old Internet Sensation
Who: John Philip “Balang” Bughaw
Why we chose him: Talk about some serious talent!
John Philip “Balang” Bughaw, the adorable 7-year-old from the Philippines who has become an Internet sensation with his dance moves, paid his old pal Ellen DeGeneres a visit earlier this week.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show show for the second time (he made his first debut in May—you may remember his amazing “Bang Bang” performance!), Balang gave an update since he last chatted with Ellen—he teaches Zumba while he continues to work on his dance videos. And like his previous guesting, he charmed the audience with a lot of dancing!
Giving Beyoncé a run for her money, Balang busted a move to Queen Bey’s hit “Single Ladies” onstage … but that’s not all. During a commercial break, there was a dance-off between Balange and the show’s resident DJ tWitch to Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).” Ahhhhhh-mazing!
Fun fact: Balang won “It’s Showtime MiniMe: Season 2” where he portrayed a mini Clarence Delgado.
