Rockettes Pick for Dancer of the Week: Arizona Rattlers’ Dancing ‘Lineman’
Who: Oscar Hernandez
Why we chose him: Although Oscar may look like a football player (he’s 6’2″ and 280 pounds!), he describes himself as “an X-factor and secret weapon” for the Arena League’s Arizona Rattlers’ dance team, the Sidewinders. Earlier this week, Oscar became an overnight sensation when a 30-second video of him twerking, twisting, and twirling during the playoff performance hit the Internet.
“I’m what they call the secret weapon for a lot of these teams,” he told reporters at Sporting News. “When I’m out there performing, I’m going to make sure you remember me.”
Fun fact: Oscar has been dancing since he was 5 years old, and cheered and danced at his Arizona high school. In 2002, he became a dancer and choreographer with the Phoenix Suns and has worked with dozens of professional sports teams like the Pistons, Cowboys, Cardinals and Lions, and has even worked with Salt-N-Pepa, T-Pain and Busta Rhymes on choreography.
