Rockettes’ Pick for Dancer of the Week: All-Male Group of UMass Med Students
Who: The University of Massachusetts Medical School Class of 2018
Why we chose them: They’re the future doctors of America, and boy, do they got moves! No, polyswagg isn’t a health condition these second-year University of Massachusetts med students are studying in class—it’s the dance style they’ve mastered in their epic rendition of Justin Bieber’s uber-famous “Sorry” music video.
This all-male group of students don the bright ’90s-inspired styles the original ladies rock (down to the lipstick!), and they’ve done their homework … split-screen shots let you see for yourself just how on-point these guys are!
And the best part? It’s all for a good cause. As part of school tradition, the second-year students put on a “class show” for faculty and their classmates. These do-gooders decided to incorporate a charitable component to their video performance where viewers can head to their GoFundMe page to donate money to Hero Homestead, a program that provides transitional housing for veterans who are dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues, as well as other challenges related to homelessness.
Fun fact: To add a little incentive to their fundraiser, the amazing dancers participated in a photo shoot that led to the creation of a calendar. With any donation of $40 or more, they will send you a complimentary calendar to show their appreciation and gratitude!
