Dancer of the Week: Daryl Sabara Surprises Meghan Trainor With Choreographed Dance At Their Wedding
Who: Daryl Sabara
Why we picked him: It’s funny that Meghan Trainor’s hit song “Dear Future Husband” didn’t mention anything about her potential beau’s dance moves, because it seems to have been the highlight at her recent wedding! In case you missed it, actor (and Trainor’s now-husband) Daryl Sabara surprised the pop star at their reception with a choreographed dance routine… and we’re watching it on repeat!
The famous couple secretly tied the knot in a low-key ceremony at their home in Los Angeles on December 22, 2018. But, there is absolutely nothing low-key about this routine starring the groom and his wedding party!
“I wanted to do something where I can be confident and also take her by surprise,” Sabara told People magazine. To do so, Sabara enlisted the help of Trainor’s close friend and choreographer, Charm La’Donna. La’Donna has worked with Meghan since her first hit single, “All About That Bass,” but is also credited with choreographing videos for Selena Gomez and Pharrell, to name a few.
In a series of three clips posted to Instagram, the Spy Kids star starts off by serenading his new wife to the tune of Chet Baker’s “Someone to Watch Over Me.” Suddenly, his song and dance switch over to “Pop! Goes My Heart” from Music and Lyrics, before ending on Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie”—and we must admit, he’s pretty talented!
Since the romantic gesture was shared online, it’s racked up nearly 250,000 likes and more than 8,000 comments on Sabara’s Instagram.
“I fell in love all over again,” Trainor shared with People. “I thought I was going to pass out with joy.”
Fun fact: Are you loving the pop star’s dazzling wedding dress as much as we are? It was designed by Berta Bridal.
